About International Guides of Korea
IGK is a guiding company based in South Korea, and our
aspiration is to expose people to Korea's outdoor
adventures. IGK proudly sponsors athletes and atheletic
events that promote the fun in life. Although we specialize
in rock and ice climbing, anything under the sun, on the
earth and in the water is our playground. Contact us with
your questions about outdoor adventure in Korea.
Format
In order to make sure players of various skill levels (from
the very beginner to the hole-in-one aficionado) have a
great time golfing, the tournament will use an adjusted Best
Ball format:
- There will be 4 players/team
- All players will tee off.
- The position of the best tee shot (best ball) will be used as the location for the 2nd shot.
- All players will take their 2nd shot from the location of the best ball.
- The position of the best 2nd shot (best ball) will be used as the location for the 3rd shot and so on.
- One adjustment to the best ball is that teams must use at least 4 tee shots from each player.
- The maximum number of strokes is 10/team.
Prizes
There will be prizes for everyone participating.
Time, Place, and Directions
The tournament will be on Saturday, November 19th, 2011.
Tee-off will be at 9am. Please arrive at Cheongwon Golf Club
at least 30minutes before Tee-off for the pre-tournament
announcments and possible adjustements. Note to last year's
players: we will be playing the whole course as
opposed to 2 rounds of 9.
CheongWon GC is 30min from the Yuseong IC. Please arrange
your own rides. Directions are as follows:
- From the Yuseong IC, head towards Seoul on Interstate Highway 1
- Continue to Seoul and exit at Cheongwon (if you pass the junction (JC) for Interstate Highway 30 then you went too far)
- After passing the through the Cheongwon IC toll gate, head towards Daejeon which will be on your left
- When you come to a T-intersection, take the right turning lane headed towards Daejeon
- At the third set of traffic lights, turn left and go under a bridge
- Once you pass the bridge, you will know that you are on the right road due to the many annoying speed bumps
- Continue up this road till you get to a fork in the road (about 2km)
- You will see a white sign that says, "CheongWon Golf Club 500m"
- Turn right as the sign says and drive 500m. You'll see
it from there

14th to ensure your place in the tournament. Deposits can be

Gear
Each player is responsible for their own balls. You can buy
balls at the golf club, but it's cheaper to buy them at the
big stores. If you're rusty or a novice, bring a bunch. As
for clubs, each team will have at least one set of clubs to
share. Clothing is casual, but no ripped clothing please.
For some, beer is gear, and the golf club will be selling
beer and snacks.
Cancellations
Please note there will be no refunds, and there is no rain
date. We play rain or shine.
