About our Wilderness First Aid Course
iGuideKorea is hosting a 2-day, 18-hour wilderness first aid course certified by Adventure Med from April 19th to 20th in the city of Daejeon. The course provides essential knowledge and skills for managing medical emergencies in remote settings. Designed for outdoor enthusiasts, it builds confidence and critical decision-making abilities for situations where time and efficiency are paramount. The curriculum is designed by the Wilderness Medical Society and the instructor, Coco Tang, is certified by Adventure Med. After successfully completing the course, participants will be awarded a certification and certified by Adventure Med.

Course Format:
This course combines lectures with hands-on practice. Training is conducted outdoors, and realistic simulations are used to prepare you for wilderness situations.
Certification:
To earn certifications, students must complete the minimum 18-hour time requirement of the WFA class. In addition, a proctored written examination must be successfully completed. Participants who complete the course will be eligible for:
- WFA certificate (valid for two years),
- Stop the Bleed certificate (valid for two years).
Course Fee:
The course fee is 375,000 KRW and includes 18 hours of instruction, shared Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) equipment, and supplemental accident insurance for 2 days.

Coco has worked in the emergency medical response field globally for over 10 years. She engages in high-stress situations regularly and offers valuable insights into Wilderness First Aid.

Global Response Medicine – President of the Board (Worldwide): 2019-present
Provide subject matter expertise in executive decision making processes of a 501(c) NGO in delivering global medical operations, to include
medical operations in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Mexico, and Guatemala. Manage recruitment process from vetting,and
interviews, to onboarding support of other board members. Provide oversight of organizational policies, budget in excess of $2 million per
year, bylaws, and public relations. Leverage assets and network to ensure security, supplies, manpower, medical protocol, local assets, and
fundraising capabilities are met for any given mission.
Global Medical Response / High Priority Consultants / CrowdRX / Event Medics / Amphibious Medics – Medic (Nationwide): Present
Conduct clinical operations as a Critical Care certified paramedic in environmentally and logistically challenging locales to deliver quality
patient care in accordance with local medical protocol. Provide stand-by medical oversight and technical rescue support at special events
nationwide including concerts, wildfires, search and rescue scenes, professional sports events, performances, Burning Man, and obstacle
course races such as Tough Mudder and Spartan Race. Maintain proficiency in remote and austere medical practices, ATV/UTV driving
skills, mass casualty response, rope rescue, swiftwater rescue, infection control, and rapid triage.
Backcountry Medical Guides – Instructor (Bellingham, WA): Present
Deliver tailored courses on Wilderness Life Support, Wilderness First Aid, Advanced First Aid, and Advanced Wilderness Life Support to
classes ranging from healthcare providers to layperson civilians. Provide quality evidence-based medical instruction and hands-on scenarios
across multiple wilderness domains, activities, and disciplines including remote, alpine, and maritime environments. Assist with the design
and implementation of curriculum changes responsive to the needs of the client.
